2,000 Pageviews and Counting a.k.a. Surprising Fact about my Viewership.

So, my blog page passed 2,000 views this week. Considering I do absolutely ZERO in the way of advertising, broadcasting, facebooking it, I think that is pretty good. I have a grand total of 2 people who leave comments, and that is great. I like those two people.

Also, considering I am an internet klutz, I imagine at least 1,300 of the pageviews are me! Regardless...It was fun to look at the stats (which I just found out I could do) and see what pages get hit.

I am not sure how the whole internet search webby portal database thingy works, but easily...EASILY the most viewed page by outsiders who find my page by google or another search engine is entitled:

I am MAD at my Pastor!!!

I am sure there is an entire blog post lurking behind this fact.

Are there that many people MAD at their pastor? (I now realize it should've said ANGRY, but I digress)

To be fully open, the post was about how good my Pastor was at bringing truth to light, convicting me through his clear presentation of God's Word... But that was the most viewed...

For your info., Leslie and Joe, the next was the one about Best Actor. I assume I need to put more mainstream lingo in my titles to get readers!!!

Anyway, my whole point was wondering how many people must be MAD at their Pastor to stumble upon my rinky-dink page.

Hmmmmmm.

Something to think about....

  1. if it helps, most people find my blog by searching shakespear tattoos :P.
I'm 'mad' at my pastor all the time, but mostly for my lack-of-appreciating-conviction reasons :)

  2. Nice...makes me wonder if I can fit Justin Bieber, Glee, and Mitt Romney into my post titles whether they appear in the post or not!! :)

  3. 2,000 page views is good. please don't blog about Bieber, unless of course it's about the death of real manhood in America's young men. i think "Mad at the Pastor" is an obvious winner. if people are happy with their pastor, they aren't venting online about it. they might post something on his facebook wall, but that's about it. however, when you are mad, you vent, troll and wallow in your seething anger. so, once again, it's no surprise that it's the most read.

as a side note, i've been mad at my pastors almost consistently for the last 8 years. sure there have been good times, but mostly lots of disappointment, frustration and seething anger. personally, i was disappointed that your "Mad at Pastor" post had a positive ending. I was wanting to wallow.

my favorite blog post so far has been the one about love notes and the 80's. it was well written and I can easily steal it for a sermon illustration in the future. a close second is the one by that bitter, anti-big-church, guest blogger. his sarcasm soothes my jaded soul.

may the blog force be with you, young skywalker!

  4. Interesting. I have a bit more, but I post more often. I assume most of the people who visit my two blogs are spammers. That's because they leave cute little notes along the lines of:

'Please tell me that youre heading to keep this up! Its so great and so important. I cant wait to read more from you. I just really feel like you know so considerably and know how to make people listen to what youve to say. This weblog is just also cool to become missed...."

Aside from that, my most popular post ever, at 413 views to date, was on hand-pollinating zucchini. Now you know what to put in your post titles.
